Rechler Equity project to get IDA assist

The Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency has preliminarily approved economic incentives for Rechler Equity Partners’ expansion of its Hampton Business District in Westhampton Beach.

The IDA tax breaks will goes towards the construction of a $10.8 million, 64,360-square-foot building at 215 Rogers Way, the third of nine buildings planned at the 50-acre business park at Gabreski Airport, according to an IDA statement.

The new building will offer spaces ranging from 2,000 square feet to more than 30,000 square feet. It’s expected that the businesses that lease space there will create 42 new jobs within the first two years. Construction should start within the next month or so.

“The continued expansion of the Hampton Business District is important, as it helps to fill the void in quality Class-A industrial space on Long Island’s East End,” Tony Catapano, executive director of the Suffolk IDA, said in the statement. “The Suffolk IDA is proud to support this project. It will continue to be an economic, tax and job generating hub that positively impacts many of Suffolk County’s residents.”

The industrial park currently has two buildings that represent more than 120,000 square feet of warehouse, distribution, manufacturing and office space. Tenants include Tate’s Bake Shop, A/C Electric, Carrier Enterprises and the Westhampton Beach Brewing Company.
