Gemini Pharmaceuticals, a second-generation, family-owned manufacturer, is deepening its roots in Suffolk County. With support from the Suffolk County IDA, the company is making a $13.9 million investment across four locations to expand its production capabilities, enhance infrastructure, and bring new science-backed jobs to the region.
The company, founded 43 years ago, produces over-the-counter pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and animal health products. With a reputation for quality and innovation, Gemini has become a cornerstone in Suffolk’s growing pharmaceutical and life sciences industry.
The centerpiece of this project involves the purchase and renovation of a 30,444-square-foot facility at 81 Modular Avenue in Commack, adjacent to Gemini’s corporate headquarters. The new facility will serve as a distribution center and a specialized site for the production of probiotic dietary supplements.
Additional upgrades include the renovation of the company’s 87 Modular Avenue headquarters, construction of approximately 4,000 square feet of new research and development space at 65 Mall Drive in Commack, and replacement of a wastewater tank at 55 Adams Avenue in Hauppauge with a direct municipal sewer connection.
In total, the project is expected to create and retain 306 jobs, while also generating 47 construction jobs. These positions will pay an average annual salary of $53,200 and support long-term growth for the company and region.

The Suffolk IDA approved a 15-year economic incentive package with over $2.0 million in financial assistance to support Gemini’s expansion across multiple sites in Suffolk County.
