SUFFOLK IDA ANNOUNCES MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS CAMPAIGN

Suffolk IDA seeks to strengthen ties with the business community and provide

resources for growth and expansion.

Hauppauge, NY (October 11, 2013) – The Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency has announced   the launching of a marketing communications campaign this fall with a primary goal of increasing awareness of the IDA within the Suffolk and greater metro region business community, from manufacturing companies to local start-ups. By increasing opportunities for engagement with the business community, the Suffolk IDA hopes to enhance its efforts and outreach in providing a network of resources in support of the retention and expansion of current Suffolk County businesses, as well as the attraction of new businesses to Suffolk County.

“The purpose of the campaign is to make the business community more aware of and knowledgeable about the Suffolk IDA and the benefits that it provides,” said Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone. “The Suffolk IDA does more than just provide financial incentives to businesses, and by spreading that message we enhance the effectiveness of the Suffolk IDA as a catalyst for economic growth in the county.”

“The Suffolk IDA works in an efficient manner to get a company’s project approved in as quick as 30 days. Whether a company is moving into Suffolk, or a local company is growing the IDA will work to maximize benefits across all levels of government. Successful developing private public partnerships is a hallmark of the County IDA” said Anthony Manetta, CEO/Executive Director of the Suffolk County IDA. The marketing campaign will consist of integrated radio, print and online advertisements that give first-hand accounts of the benefits the Suffolk IDA provides. Advertisements will be featured on CBS and Bloomberg radio, in print and online in the Long Island Business News, Crain’s New York Business, and targeted trade publications, as well as online with Newsday. There will also be a social media component including LinkedIn, as well as targeted mailings.

“The initial focus of the IDA’s marketing/communication campaign will be to highlight the many resources it brings to the table that are in addition to the traditional IDA financial incentives of property and mortgage tax reductions and sales tax exemptions,” noted Deputy County Executive/Economic Development Commissioner and Chairperson of the Suffolk IDA Board, Joanne Minieri. “The Suffolk IDA serves as a conduit to financial and non-financial resources that can be vital to a company’s growth and success.”

As part of its effort to reach out to the business community, the Suffolk IDA will be hosting its 2nd annual business development and networking event on Tuesday, October 15, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Melville Marriot. The event will highlight successes of the past year and provide information on the various programs, services and financial incentives the Suffolk IDA provides.
